John T. Godfrey (16.3 Kills)

Though born in Canada, Godfrey was raised in Rhode Island. As with many 4th pilots, he served with the RAF before joining thr Group. Amoung his victories was a triple scored on 22 April 1944. Godfrey was shot down and takin prisoner but after two unsuccessful attempts, he finally escaped from POW camp. The aircraft he flew was coded VF P serial number 43-6765.
